Montreal Steak Spice

A Montreal Tradition

A bold, coarse steak seasoning inspired by the legendary smoked meat delis of Montreal.

Johnny Retro Montreal Steak Spice is a robust blend of coarse spices created to build a deeply seasoned, flavour-packed crust on meat.

Peppery, savoury and full of character, it's inspired by Montreal's famous deli tradition, where bold spice blends became synonymous with smoked meat and eventually found their way onto steaks and grills far beyond the city.

Why You'll Love It

Inspired by Montreal's Legendary Delis

Montreal steak spice has its roots in the city's famous smoked meat tradition.

The Jewish delis of Montreal became renowned for heavily seasoned smoked meat, traditionally made from beef brisket. The distinctive combination of coarse pepper, garlic and spices eventually became a seasoning style in its own right.

Our Montreal Steak Spice takes inspiration from that tradition, delivering the bold seasoning and coarse texture that makes this style of spice so distinctive.

More Than Steak

While steak might get top billing, Montreal Steak Spice has plenty more to offer.

Its coarse, savoury character works beautifully with beef patties, lamb and pork as well as roasted potatoes, grilled mushrooms and other dishes where you want bold seasoning and texture.

Use it generously before grilling or cooking to help develop that characteristic seasoned crust.
